The Nansen Nome Harness 5.0 is an ergonomic pulling harness specifically designed for mushing. It has undergone rigorous testing, simulating a distance equivalent to circumnavigating the globe 16 times. Notably, this harness was the one employed by Thomas Wærner during his triumphant Iditarod victory in 2020.

The Nansen Nome Harness 5.0 is meticulously crafted to enable dogs to perform optimally without any limitations on movement or respiration. Its Y-shaped front and flat chest piece maximise the dog’s power output. Additionally, a straight section extending over the dog’s neck provides complete freedom of movement in the shoulder area.

For dogs exhibiting pulling tendencies to one side, the harness significantly reduces the risk of strain. This is achieved by the back strap traveling along the attachment point, thereby levelling the harness and dog. Furthermore, a reflective flap positioned at the neck facilitates the detection of any irregularities in the dog’s movement, even in low-light conditions.

The Nansen Nome Harness 5.0 is available in half-sizes, which share the same back length but feature a larger neck circumference. Half-sizes are distinguished by a red end-rope, while full-sizes utilise a blue end-rope. Additionally, the backstrap length varies across different sizes. However, the overall length of the harness remains consistent regardless of the size.

Our manufacturing process prioritises the construction of an inner lining where all materials overlap without any sharp edges. Harnesses are crafted from durable, tightly woven nylon, while a cell foam base ensures water resistance. Every seam is designed with a smooth side facing the dog’s body to minimise any potential chafing. All our harnesses incorporate 3M reflective materials for the dog’s safety. This anatomical design approach, emphasising freedom of movement and comfortable breathing, constitutes our hallmark.

Features

	The pulling harness has a Y-formed neck opening and a straight part over the neck to provide the dog freedom of movement and easy breathing when they are pulling.
	For dogs who are pulling askew, this harness decreases the risk of strain because the attachment point travels on the backstrap, which levels the harness and dog. The backstrap length on this harness varies from size to size. But the total length of the harness is the same, regardless of size.
	Each size has a different color patch on top of the harness. This color marking makes it easy to recognize the different sizes if you have many dogs.
